THE POWER OF PRESSURE

If there is a brother who is naturally very patient gentle and kind, he has only his natural virtues. God will allow his friends, relatives, and co-workers to oppress him, pierce him, take advantage of him, and hurt him until, being unable to contain himself, he will lose his temper. Then he will realize that his natural virtues are inadequate because they cannot
pass through death. This is a great test. If he will lift up his head to God at these times and say to Him, "God, my patience has run out: manifest Your patience in me," he will be amazed to find patience in the midst of all the death situations. This is resurrection.

압박의 능력


만일 한 형제가 천연적으로 정말 잘 참아내고 온유하며, 인애하다면, 이것은 그의 천연적인 장점에 불과한것이다. 하나님은 오히려 그의 친구, 친척, 동료 등으로 하여 그를 압박하고, 찌르고, 속이고, 다치게 하여 그로 참을 수 없게 하고, 화를 내지 않을 수 없는 지경에까지 이르게 한다. 이 때에야 비로소 그는 천연적인 데에서 나온 모든 것은 죽음(가장 큰 시련)을 통과하여, 의연히 살게 할 수 없음을 안다. 만일 이 때에 그가 고개를 들고 하나님께, 『하나님이여, 나의 인내는 이미 끝났습니다. 당신이 당신의 인내를 내 몸에서 나타내시기를 구합니다. 』라고 말한다면, 그는 기묘하게도 각양 각색의 죽음 속에서 여전히 인내하게 되는데, 이것이 바로 부활이다.
