THE THE NEW JERUSALEM
SUSTAINED BY THE RIVER OF LIFE
WITH THE TREE OF LIFE
At the end of the
Bible we see the consummation of the tree of life-the New Jerusalem. In the center of this
city we see the river of life, which proceeds out of the throne of God and the Lamb, and
in which rows the tree of life that bears fruit every month (Rev. 22:1-2). Our destiny and
our portion for eternity will be the enjoyment of the tree of life
and the water of life. The Bible concludes with a promise and a call. The promise is found
in Revelation 22:14 which says, "Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they
may have right to the tree of life." The call is found in Revelation 22:17 which
says, "He who wills, let him take the water of life freely." Thus, the whole
Bible ends with eating and drinking, with enjoying God as the tree of life and with
drinking Him as the water of life. This is the consummation of the line of life.
What should we do today? We should not do anything. We should simply stay on the line of
the tree of life, enjoying God as our life and as our life supply. God will take care of
everything. Out of the enjoyment of the Lord as our life supply, we will have our daily
life, walk, work, and the building up of the churches. Then everything we have will be
according to God's divine element, not according to our own concepts. Now we see the way
we must take. May the Lord have mercy on us that we all may continue on the line of life.

새 예루살렘
성경의
끝에서 우리는 생명나무의 완성인 새 예루살렘을 본다. 이 성의
중앙에는 하나님과 어린양의 보좌로부터 나오는 생명강이 있으며
강 안에는 달마다 실과를 맺는 생명나무가 자란다(계 22:1-2). 우리의
운명과 영원한 분깃은 생명나무와 생명수의 누림이 될 것이다.
성경은 약속과 부르심으로 결론을 내린다. 약속은 계시록22장 14절에
있는, 『그 두루마기를 빠는 자들은 복이 있으니 이는 저희가
생명나무에 나아갈‥‥ 권세를 얻으려 함이로다』에서 볼 수 있다.
부르심은 계시록 22장 17절에 있는, 『원하는 자는 값없이 생명수를
받으라』에서 볼 수 있다. 그러므로 성경 전체는 먹는 것과 마시는
것으로 끝나며 생명나무이신 하나님을 누리며 생명수이신 그분을
마심으로 끝난다. 이것이 생명 노선의 완성이다.
오늘날 우리는 무엇을 해야 하는가 ? 우리는 아무 것도 해서는
안된다. 우리는 다만 하나님을 우리의 생명과 생명 공급으로 누리며
생명나무의 노선 안에 있어야 한다. 하나님께서 모든 것을 돌보실
것이다. 주님을 우리의 생명 공급으로 누림으로 우리는 일상 생활과
행함과 일을 해야 하며 교회를 건축해야 한다. 그럴 때 우리가 가진
모든 것은 우리의 관념에 의한 것이 아닌, 하나님의 신성한 요소에
의한 것이 될 것이다 이제 우리는 가야 할 길을 본다. 주님이
우리에게 긍휼을 베푸사 부디 우리 모두가 생명 노선 안에 계속
머물기 바란다.
