THE THE DISCIPLES
Do not think that because we are disciples we have a guarantee that we are on
the line of life. The disciples who were with the Lord still held the traditional
knowledge of religion when they saw a man blind from birth (John 9:1-3). Based upon their
religious knowledge, they asked, "Who sinned, this man or his parents, that he should
be born blind?" The Lord answered, "Neither has this man sinned nor his parents,
but that the works of God might be manifested in him." The Lord did not give them a
yes or no answer, but directed them to God. Yes and no belong to the tree of the knowledge
of good and evil, but God is the tree of life. Thus, the Lord directed the disciples from
the line of knowledge to the line of life.

제자들
우리는 제자들이므로 생명 노선 안에 있을 보장을 가졌다고 생각지 말라. 주님과 함께 있었던 제자들은 날 때부터 소경 된 사람을 보았을 때 여전히 종교의 전통적인 지식을 붙잡았다(요 9 : 1-3). 종교적인 지식을 근거로 그들은, 『이 사람이 소경으로 난 것이 뉘 죄로 인함이오니 이까 자기오니이까 그 부모오니이까』라고 물었다. 주님은 이렇게 대답하셨다. 『이 사람이나 그 부모가 죄를 범한 것이 아니라 그에게서 하나님의 하시는 일을 나타내고자 하심이니라』. 주님은 그들에게 예 아니오의 대답을 하지 않으시고 그들로 하여금 하나님을 향하게 하셨다. 예 아니오는 선 악지식의 나무에 속하지만 하나님은 생명나무이시다. 그러므로 주님은 제자들을 지식 노선에서 생명 노선으로 돌이키셨다.
